Vaporwave Color Palettes

Synth pink, cyber lavender, glitch teal — 2010s digital melancholia in pigment.

Vaporwave color is the digital-melancholia palette that emerged from 2010s internet aesthetics: hot pink and lavender from CRT screens, glitchy teal from 1990s Windows boot screens, sunset gradients from 1980s Pacific posters, and the high-saturation purples of malls remembered through nostalgia. The Japanese color tradition surprisingly aligns: 'nadeshiko' (撫子 — fringed pink) is the synth-pink, 'fuji' (藤 — wisteria) is the cyber-lavender, 'asagi' (浅葱 — pale teal) is the glitch turquoise, 'kikyo' (桔梗 — bellflower purple) is the saturated mall-twilight tone. Reference material for music-cover design, indie-game UI, retro-futurist branding, CRT-aesthetic editorial, and any project drawn from the well of 2010s post-internet visual culture.
